  • Also going to try some Hoka ones. Anyone have any experience with them?

  • Just entered the Copenhagen half marathon. I think some people here have done it?

  • I did it in 2017. Was v well organised, a good way to see the city and a great atmosphere.

However, there were mega thunderstorms and hail downpours that flooded the end of the course (no sprint finish!), and two people were struck by lightning. so they understandably cancelled the event at about 2hrs10, which was obviously extremely frustrating for those not finished! I got in just under 2hrs and found my bag floating in a foot of water in the bag drop area...

Oh, and then the sun came out

  • ...and the conch has been blown...

  • A conch or the conch? Twitter quiet at the mo.

  • From here and an another about Laz having lit a cigarette but could be trolling. I think they like playing with people! Maybe I'm too keen to get the dotwatching season going... :)

Edit: yeah not started yet. They're just trolling me.

  • Yeah twitter will melt when the conch is blown. I think the event is changed irreversibly by the media spotlight of recent years, saw a pic of crowd control barriers along the starting 30 metres or so.

  • World x country on the red button. Well worth a watch.

  • ^ at allotment so missing it :(

For self catering at EfGB I've bought a jetboil zip.

V.impressive 90s to boil 200ml water to rehydrate meals or make coffee, should help me keep moving through less faff, or at least allow faff to be directed elsewhere.

  • Pretty much game over at bm100, 3 out on loop 3 but they all started about 1hr later than the slowest to then go & finish.

One guy is still out on lap 1, hope he's ok.

  • A tough year!

It also made it into the BBC website.

Had a fun weekend of running in Norfolk. Did a double Sheringham parkrun yesterday and then 10 miles through the park and along the coast - the first section was sheltered the second part wasn't.

Road relays next weekend so a bit of sharpening and some very very easy miles this week.

  • That’s where I’m from! Are you from around there too or just visiting?

  • Just visiting. Wife's family live there. Its such a nice area to escape to at the weekend.

  • Thanks for this.
    Ironing now.
    Perfect for it.

Watching the mixed relay, i imagine the course would be incredibly challenging when wet.

  • Was just browsing Twitter and saw the bm100 hashtag, clicked through a few pictures and saw a friend racing!! Looks like they made it 1.5laps which is darned good in my opinion!

  • ^ nice one, can you get the entry process details then?!

    This made me chuckle earlier:

  • One for the gear junkies:

    https://theomm.com/product/phantom-20/

Not sure I'd want the load & friction point on my neck though?

  • Has anyone had their final instructions for LM yet? I was getting a bit twitchy that I hadn't heard anything so checked my confirmation email which said I should have had an email in March :(

  • I got something today about the bottle belt trial and that there'd be a pre-registration email tomorrow.

  • Ah yes, thank you! I disregareded that bottle belt email when I realised there wasn't enough time to try it out on enough long runs before the event. Having re-read preperly it seems I should get an email in the near future.

Yes, that does seem odd. I'm doing my last long run tomorrow (~20m hopefully) and then it's taper (with the only long runs being 7, 12 and 10 miles mostly at easy pace).

  • I've got a bit of a busy weekend and no idea when I'm going to squeeze a run in :( did manage to get out at lunch today for 12 miles with 10 at tempo (following Hansons - some tough workouts)!

  • Pre-reg email just came through, and the realbuzz website is slowing to a crawl.

(Form didn't submit the first few times then noticed the month of birth was wrong, not sure whether it was always incorrect or whether a slip of the mouse/keyboard changed it.)

Done, think I got a bottle belt too.

  • Nice, mine too. All sorted and no belts left.
