That's the tricky bit. UK people who do randos as well as audaxes have to make the distinction because they're different events. But they're a small portion of the people who use rando and audax interchangeably here. It's like computer geeks who know about and care about the difference between ROM and RAM whereas most people just think "memory". Maybe?
But in the UK they mean the same thing right? And for the things we call "audaxes" i.e the events run by audax UK nobody says "oooh I'm randonneuring". Or do they?
