Well their whole watchmaking business is simply Minerva, who they bought. They have little heritage themselves in that. But the designs they’re coming out with are quite appealing & marketable. There’s a hand-wound two hand ultra-slim model that’s particularly nice for the money. (Though I asked about it in the Montblanc boutique in Westfield and they pretty much denied all knowledge of it and said they couldn’t get it in.)

The main man is a mate of Clymer at Hoodwinkee so they’re getting lots of positive press from them. But regardless, the cheaper retro stuff is ok. Not sure who buys Montblanc tourbillons.

I think what was interesting is how much it turns out he was holding back when they filmed the first one. It’s a lot of Rolex but it’s the real upper echelons of it, in terms of Daytonas at least. Not my thing, but can appreciate it. Likewise, not sure I really like the guy but I respect his commitment to his hobby.

Thanks for the insight on the Seiko Samurai bracelet - really helpful. The polished center strips are what I dislike on the turtle bracelet.

Maybe the should do a series, one rolex only, one patek etc. Pretty sure he has a lot more..

Like he said Re the Patek, he didn’t want to delve deeper into his collection. I suspect he wants some of it to remain personal to him and also not put an even bigger theft target over his home than there already may be? Purely speculative, though!
