I'm sorry but that's really not how that works. Neither of the two big parties will officially back a revocation of A50. Which in turn means the outcome will by default appear to be some kind of backing of Leave. Beyond that however, it doesn't say fuck all about what people want, as it's not even like all of Labour or all of the Tories are each united behind one clear path forward.
And finally, what is needed here isn't another Leave / Remain vote anyway, there need to be concrete, realistic, actionable choices.

It will be fought on a single issue or become a proxy for that single issue.
My emphasis added. I am look at this from the standpoint of the electorate.
There has been literally NOTHING else on the table politically for the past 3 years. A change in leadership in the Tories for a GE I would hope would push for a change in leadership in Labour and that could shift their policy.
Corbyn vs A.N. Other Grey Suited Dickhead really is no different from the current situation.
I'm just going to throw my ballot paper in the sea. It will be just as effective there as in the ballot box.
True. But that is not how the elctorate will see it. It will be fought on a single issue or become a proxy for that single issue.
