Jig arrived today.
Box weighed 42 kilo's. Nearly gave myself a hernia just carrying it to the shed.
Will unbox at the weekend.

What did you get?
-
• #106
I bought this:
Their idea of 'low-cost' and my idea of 'low-cost' = two different things.
-
• #107
Did you buy the mild steel lengths yourself?
-
• #108
I haven't done that yet.
I am aware that this fixture requires a bit of user-input to get it up and running, and that I need to fabricate (or cause to have fabricated) some bits out of mild steel.
Will do the 'un-boxing' at the weekend, and then see what has to be done.
Also, need to get a surface plate.

How’s the fixture looking?
Wanted
If anyone here has an old or surplus frame/fork/chainstay jig, dummy axles etc, I’d like to buy some stuff. I realise we have only hobbyists on here for the most part (the @coldharbour excluded) and are unlikely to have spares but shout if anyone sees anything too. -

Fixture is still in the box :(
It requires me to source a few lengths of box section steel to put it together, and work / parenting / life / poverty have all conspired to make me fail.
Must try harder.

Awesome, let me know what you got.
I've literally yesterday ordered a bunch of extrusion to build a jig but I would still be interested to hear of anything available -
• #114
its stuff from when i used to make jigs , people could yse the design and do what they wanted with it
-
• #115
Great, as I said, I'd be very interested to see what spare bits you've got
-
• #116

Finally got round to ordering the beams today.
Should arrive tomorrow or Wednesday.
Sorry for the delay ;)

Just to follow on from the above post - yesterday, after months of prevaricating, I ordered some bits of steel from The Small Order Metal Company in Southend.
They have just arrived at my workplace, less than 24 hours after I placed the order.
10 / 10, would use again.

Nice.
But it’s so cold here today I’m mainly jealous of the radiator in the background 🥶 -
• #122
You do fabwork for a day job?
-
• #123
Ha! It’s getting scrapped before I bolt this fucker down. Never had central heating here. Our workshop is a basement, a bit like a wine cellar it seem to stay pretty temperate whatever’s happening outside. Just have to keep moving in winter.

Fantastic. Really really exceptional work there
Nah, this will be my first fixture of any significance.
Aiming to get more 'tooled up' this year.
