My brother (he is 6ft4”) has a 1.4 manual and gets 50mpg on the motorway. My dad has a 1.4 auto and gets 40mpg+.
The back seats fold completely flat so the boot space is huge. Good for bikes, ikea trips etc.
Cheap tax as well, as they are all 1.2 or 1.4 engines. Can pick them up for less than £1500 for a 2003-2006 year. Tend to be owned by older people so usually 1 or 2 owner cars. Lower mileage.
Only thing is I don’t think cruise control was ever an option.
