  • gotta ride the dug in line on the top right of claypit

  • Just after the road? If you take that trail, ride up the weird table top thing but then continue straight on rather than turning left there’s some wild stuff that has appeared.

There’s a tree down on the trail just before the road which has kinda busted the flow of it.

  • ride up the weird table top thing but then continue straight on

that's the bit, was a nice flowy trail a few months ago there freshly dug in

  • 7th? Double whammy?

  • @edmundro you in for this?

@psg1ben you gonna bring the jump bike?

  • that's the bit, was a nice flowy trail a few months ago there freshly dug in

Will be a lovely bog now.

  • That stuff drains pretty well and obvs the horses don't go there. It's the flats that have been ruined and are in pretty bad shape at the moment. Killer combination of waterlogged sludge on top and a thick, hard layer underneath so you just squirm around in it.

  • You all realise that you don't decide where to go on this ride, right?

    guided rides around Epping Forest

    Here you go

  • Perfect bicycle bog surfing terrain.

On another note the ones that drain well on Wellington Hill were totally sloppy, the other weekend when it had rained the day before, the hard pack had totally melted, and slippery and littered with tree roots.

  • On another note the ones that drain well on Wellington Hill were totally sloppy

The main run was OK on Sunday - it had drained. Even the bog-puddle in the middle had dried out.

The ride up to it from Chingford via the obelisk and the brook was pretty bad though, again coz it's flat and because it gets horse traffic. That crazy flooding is still there - really intrigued as to what has caused that. Burst water pipe that services the (derelict) house near the church?

  • I did chuck some bits of wood in that bit bog puddle a while back to firm it up a bit, although they were a bit too to the right.

That mystery pond nearly caught myself and @BareNecessities out last time we were there, it's less full than it was, and there was a huge puddle of what smells like toilet water opposite The Kings Oak.

  • there was a huge puddle of what smells like toilet water

    That's the official complaints department

  • 7th? Double whammy?

    Possibly

  • Oop, the jump bike is sold already 😅
    CX beasty

  • what about the tricycle?

  • One tricycle has been sold.
Just acquired another but it's out of action.
I reckon my cargo bike could handle the mud with the right tyres...

  • I don't doubt that it can, but can it turn the corners? And @BareNecessities has promised no mud.

Was the jump bike too rad for you?

  • Yeah it's probably not gonna handle the corners..
Jump bike was too heavy and it was like a sad bmx

  • BareNecessities has promised no mud

    I did what now?

  • You're old before your time.
