  • Was just making sure that you guys knew how to avoid making a bad situation worse.

    No amount of identifying who is at fault will stop you getting bitten. Animals can be unpredictable after all. Even the best trained ones. And in the very unlikely event that you encounter a genuinely threatening dog of reasonable size, kicking it or shouting at the owner will probably make things far worse.

    Didn't mean to come across as siding with the dog owner. That wasn't my intent. Genuinely felt it was important to mention what to do if a dog chases you.

  • I've come across excited dogs mid tempo run before, doing what you suggested and it works. Bit annoying, but not as annoying as being bitten
