  • Sounds like a chiro who kept their mouth shut long enough to get qualified as an osteo.

  • kept their mouth shut long enough to get qualified

..so you're claiming they are fixing qualification issues by skeletal alignment?

  • Well, the 'professional body' seems to me to claim rather more than that - my emphasis:

    https://www.osteopathy.org.uk/visiting-an-osteopath/about-osteopathy/

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions... based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.
To an osteopath, for your body to work well, its structure must also work well. So osteopaths work to restore your body to a state of balance, where possible without the use of drugs or surgery.
Osteopaths use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms. They may also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.

  • any idea how these speaker controls can be detached from the plastic fascia?

  • Desolder if you want the pots. Looks like you should be able to pull the knobs off the front if you just want those.

  • Most likely the knobs are a push fit, with a retaining nut underneath.
Possibly cut more of the fascia away (another 'horizontal' cut a few mm lower) so you can get below the edge of the knobs and lever them off without visible damage?

  • thanks both! was pretty easy in the end

  • Related question. Do I need to include a similar tube/opening at the top of the speakers that I'm replacing the case for?

  • Do I need to include a similar tube/opening at the top of the speakers that I'm replacing the case for?

Yes, if you want them to sound roughly the same you need to replicate the internal volume and the port geometry. You can change either or both to tune the frequency response.

  • Yes.
If the original speakers had ports, the drivers will probably struggle with a sealed enclosure - not surprisingly, there are several other factors as well.
Back in the last century, if any of my students wanted to design speakers I used to make them read a book first:

Doubtless this newfangled interweb thing has the equivalent of clear explanations with pictures...

  • I'd like to check on a company who only seems to have a web presence.
Raubritter.at is the url, any ideas? Doesn't seem to be discussed anywhere.

  • Looks dodgy to me.
They have a .de domain as well, also without proper legal notice ("Impressum", which they are required to have by law)..

  • Yes, looks dodgy to me, too.

I just did various searches in German but no info came up.

"Raubritter" were knights who preyed on travellers and merchants from their strongholds, so it's not an auspicious name.

  • Thanks both. The wiki on 'Raubritter' is interesting, seems to discount the veracity of the existence of these knights.

  • Pal interested in bike for sale. What are people's thoughts on this described as a 'manufacturing depression' on an unridden bike with a few light cosmetic slights and this? (Carbon frame)
    Opinions much appreciated
    Cheers

  • Given that carbon frames are usually made with an external mould and the fibres are compressed by expanding internal bladders, I can't see how the frame could bulge that that unless the carbon fibre plies have delaminated. Personally, I wouldn't but YMMV.

  • Thanks for input, will pass on. The seller is suggesting it's an impression rather than bulge.

    Thanks again

  • It's possible that it is the result of trapped air between the mould and the carbon plies, in which case it's less of a concern, but I still wouldn't buy it myself without a very close and personal inspection.

  • Thanks again, that's enough for me to offer an opinion to give it a swerve

  • Unless they’ve expanded, their main line is shoes.

  • No chance. Avoid.

  • Many thanks. Swerved it.
    Cheers

  • seller is suggesting it's an impression rather than bulge

    that's not a suggestion that's sugarcoating
