  • If the geometry chart is true (!) there is only a 5mm length difference between 56 and 58. So it comes down to, do you want a 160mm headtube or a 180mm? :)

  • With a positive stem mind, not your madness!

  • I will be mainly running risers and riding in the street for courier work. I'm not a fan of drops and have never ridden track. Should I opt for 58cm for the more upright riding position the longer headtube will give me?

  • Well spotted.

  • 58cm, the 56cm is oddly longer.

  • Here is a recent build I have just finished. I have built a few track bikes over the years, but this is the very first where I chose and installed each and every component. I'm 183cm and this fits well - 58cm running 49x17

  • Not according to the geo chart

  • And look like they update it again.

TBF, the Reach difference is only 1.2mm between 56cm and 58cm.

  • So I'm about to pull the trigger on a 58cm...change my mind?

  • change your mind how ? :)

i went 56 would go 58 if i get another.

Go PC if only running fixed, nicer welds.
Go FXE if swapping between Fixed and SS and want a rear brake and mudguards.

About sums it up. Had a 56 FXE would go 58FXE again.

  • I’ve a 58cm FXE and, at 183cm, I’d go 56 if I were to get another

So, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man

  • Soon to be PC owner and first fixie - newbie here. What do you guys think? £320 eBay snag.

Gonna change the bars to straight bars. As well as pedals with some straps.

    ITM Vega Carbon Fork
    Cinelli Pista drop bars
    48T 175mm Sturmey Archer crankset
    Track chain
    Halo aerorage flip-flop rear wheel
    Shimano 600 front wheel
    90mm Planet X Stem
    Specialized crosstop brake lever
    Planet X Seat-post
    Planet X saddle (Fizik shape)
    Alpina Headset and Seat Clamp

Its 60cm frame and am 6ft3 (194cm) with inseam of 33inches. Hopefully it'll be a fine fit. I can always get a shorter stem in case its too much of reach?

The Cinelli drop bars - reckon I could get £30-40; if anyone is interested...

  • I'm 6'3" too, roughly the same inseam I think. Average flexibility.
I need to use an 80 stem and flat/risers to be comfortable, and an inline stem.
The 60cm PC is crazy long, but little toe overlap with 165's!

  • Because im a noob - what exactly is meant by inline stem? Aren't all stems inline? - tried searching but got nothing back.

Im glad its already got 90mm on there, but if things are difficult I can always go 80.

  • i'm 194 too! I had the same frame, rode it with compact deda bars and 100mm thomson stem. Felt too long, and i'd surely prefer a 58cm one with 120/130mm stem. Anyway it's just personal preference, with a 80/90mm stem you'll be still ok

  • Awesome - just arrived today... no pedals though and I am not keen on clipless for now... can someone recommend a solid strap / cage setup Pedals?

I might just pop into brick lane bikes and get something... but want to hear your reccommendations first

  • might just pop into brick lane bikes

I would recommend literally any other bike shop
