every other tooth on the chainring is slightly wider. helps with the chain not dropping off
If you're 110bcd SRAM 5 bolt then these will work and arent that much more expensive than the Evans ones

Assuming it's 5 bolt 110bcd, Hope retainer rings go as low as 34t in that bolt pattern, they're narrow/wide, so you could do away with the front chain guide, unless you ride particularly gnarly terrain, then leave it on.
