The last thing America, and the world, needs, is another term of Trump. We just need whoever has the best chance of beating him.

I think you’re reading far more into it than was intended.
Do you really think having someone who is close to being an octogenarian as president is a progressive step?
There are plenty of politicians in the US with good policy ideas, not just Sanders.

None as good as Bernie (who are running, anyway) and none polling as high as him. So why compromise on politics and electability just to tick a diversity box?

Just seemed petty at best, mildly rrrrrrrracist at worst. Plus you’re an old white man so stfu ;-)
Age, race, gender really aren’t much concern to me so no, I don’t think he’s too old (or white). Perhaps I’d prefer Yang to be the contender but it isn’t going to happen. Sanders would still run rings round Trump, Harris, Klobuchar or Booker in the debates because he knows his shit, isn’t a pretender and has maintained consistent positions for the last 400 years.
Btw Sanders will be supported by the likes of AOC, Ohmar and Gabbard (if representation of marginalised groups is important to you).

So the Mueller report amounts to nothing.
It’s a terrible shame that corp dems and the mainstream left-leaning media have avoided criticism of Trump on; Iran policy, his abandoning of the nuclear missile treaty, his quiet ground war in the Ukraine, and his operations in Venezuela ... all because these contradict their ‘Putins puppet’ narrative.
-
• #7520
How do any of those contradict the Putins puppet thing? They’re all destabilising moves doomed to fail in their stated objectives. Putin would be happy with all of them. Probably Iran most of all, given that the re-establishment of sanctions would support Syria, and the asymmetrical application of sanctions with the US taking a hard line and Europe not is Putins wet dream.

From what I understand from this NY Times article its up to the Attorney General now and also fallout from when the report is made public? https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/22/us/politics/mueller-report.html

@Dammit That’s a stretch but thanks for reminding me to add the claim on the Golan Heights (for Israel).
I’ve no doubt Putins preference was Trump over Hillary. Trump spoke as if he would scale back foreign offensives. Trump was an (unproven) isolationist. Hillary was a proven hawk.
Other than the Ukraine (which the US is now arming) the countries I mentioned are all valued trade or military allies of Russia.
The US is heading for war with Iran, so sanctions aren’t the end-game. Many Dems back a war.
The US is now on an even footing in disregarding the missile treaty.
Ukraine is becoming a proxy war between Russia and the US, Putin wants control of the ports of the Black Sea, Trump is not backing out.
Venezuela is a military friend to Russia and together they (did) sell oil to the US, China and India. That’s now fallen apart thanks to US sanctions, destabilising efforts etc.
The Golan Heights, may just be providing an excuse for Israel to go at Syria (I don’t know). But pressure on Syria all the same. -

No new indictments recommend. So no good case for collusion or purgury or whatever.

• #7524
Hmm, I think we have a different view of things.

We probably agree that Trump is a numbskull.
We probably don't agree that Russia is scary.
Wow. You forgot to add the word ‘jewish’ to your list?
Critique policy perhaps.
