I’m not surprised, he was riding Tirreno-Adriatico...

Be ace if Bennett got it.
But what's actually going to happen is Lutsenko will go on the Cipressa, crash 3x on the Poggio and outsprint Allan Phillip with two broken arms for the win.
-
• #20454
Yeah, that one.
-
• #20455
Ta, will get onto them.

He and 4 others were jumping the pavement to avoid traffic at Quaterbridge. Nice bunny hop.
Scruffy looking beard. -
• #20457
Yes, yes it is!

Lutsenko isn't riding.

Which makes it even more miraculous.

Imagine if one of my lunatic predictions came true?
In this year's MSR, Sagan crashes on the Poggio, gets offered a 16" kids bike, complete with tassles, from a local girl and then proceeds to ride it towards the finish line in a one-handed wheelie. He's pipped at the line by late-entry Cadel Evans when he stops to pick up ice-cream for the child who loaned him the bike.

late-entry Cadel Evans
Did nobody tell Cadel he has to ride the whole race?
Automatic disqualification, I reckon.

Everyone knows about the magical, time-saving 3km rule but the 5k rule is a little known UCI rule addendum that retired TdF winners are allowed to re-enter any race of their choosing with 5k to go.
-
• #20464
You misheard--the rule is only for Australians, but because they're so good they have to ride for 24 hours beforehand to level the playing field. As Cadel isn't even Australian, the rule doesn't apply to him, though.

Hmmm - the allegations about expenses ‘are nothing to do with his resignation’, but they’ve been mentioned anyway. That doesn’t stack up to me.
Bringing the TdF and Worlds to Yorkshire is a massive legacy to leave behind. Only marred by adding a ‘de’ to the Tour of Yorkshire.
That and fiddling his expenses.

Expenses are a bit of a hot topic right now. This MP basically didn't do anything wrong and is still being crucified for it
Tory MP Christopher Davies admits expenses fraud -

He produced false invoices. You try pulling that shit in any other walk of life, and see how far you get. It may be he didn't need to do anything wrong, but isn't that the case with pretty much all crimes?

At least the guy delivered stuff. How many other fuckers just cut and run with £millions and never see the inside of a courtroom.

Yay, Milan San Remo, the hardest classic to win, the easiest to fall asleep during.

Can anyone recommend somewhere in central London that will be showing M-SR later? Quite keen to watch the last 30-40k if I can duck out of an engagement in time. Bar Italia will be, but somewhere closer to the river might be easier for me
-
• #20472
Indeed. The fact his fraud was totally unnecessary just means he's stupid as well as dishonest.
-
• #20473
Supidity isn't a crime nor is ignorance a defence. Point isn't that he hasn't done anything wrong, more that on the scale of dishonesty, he's done something stupid trying to do what is arguably the right thing. Perhaps more defensible than, say, second home allowance claims, duck houses for one's moat, etc. And therefore illustrating that any fuck up re expenses is enough to bring you down

Got woken up early to say goodbye to the foster dog, so looking forward to a nap

The roads for the Bredene Koksijde look awful: tramlines and really tight pinch points
He's been up there now and then but he didn't look too stoked during PN.
