Here's one I've done for the EU nationals charity. The Brits in Europe already had a card I did offer.

Working on another comic, weirdly enough tutorials talk about placing text bubbles (something I didn't keep in mind last time, and this hurt some of the panels) but now about placing them into the whole composition.
After all, you are putting a big element into a composition. Anyhoo, another 2 page comic coming, this time in colour with improved linework :)

Image not loading for me :-(
There’s also reading order and pacing to consider, too. Bad reading order prioritising, when it comes to text bubble (or kids picture book text placement) is a pet hate of mine. If I’m reading something and it’s not instantly clear which is the next section of text, that’s annoying. Although I’m well aware of how hard it can be!

The image on post 177? Strange, I uploaded to LFGSS.
I didn't write the script and I have two pages, some things are just going to be "yeah, I can't work miracles/a day has 8 hours of work etc. etc) but I'll try to keep that in mind. Going to place some bubbles "quickly" in Photoshop.

When there is too much text, and you have to rewrite otherwise the comic panels are like this ;)

There we go again.
Blue pencil, scan in colour and remove the blue really is a timesaver. Old Skool is the best Skool sometimes.
And a brush pen and fountain pens with convertors or fineliners. Dipping ink is a royal pita, did it last time never again.

This is great. Anywhere I can see more?
I did a kids book a while back that was in a semi graphic novel format. The illustrator hadn’t done that sort of thing on that scale before so I basically had to storyboard/scamp the whole thing for him cell by cell. It was a fucking nightmare logistically but bins of fun to do and turned out well. I needed to do a lot of artworking on it, to the point where I was very close to giving myself an illustration credit on it :-)
