It’s become like football now.
They had the best riders and now they’ve hoovered up the new talent - Bernal, Sosa and Ganna.
Ineos has presumably committed to the current funding level if it takes over during this season.

Interesting that it's from 1st May. Sky have been bought out, they really wanted out.
-
• #20405
Or Ineos really wanted in.
-
• #20406
That also.
It is a shame they didnt announce a women's team at the same time. -
• #20407
Yeah, I guess once they commit, they want to be fully visible by the start of the Giro. No point in sky hanging around.
-
• #20408
It would be criminal if some of the rumoured additional budget is not spent on a women’s team. But would you announce that now, or at a later date when it could have more impact and you have riders to announce?

0.31 seconds was the gap between Roglich and Yates.

Ratcliffe is by all accounts a massive putrid arse of a human.
Fracking and pro cycling. I suppose both are renowned for injecting high doses of potentially lethal chemicals into things for money so makes sense. Will not ever celebrate a win of theirs ever again personally, much as I already disliked Sky on multiple fronts this is next level Cunt Buyer.
Bring back the Dacha... At least Tinkoff just made booze and terrible financial decisions..

What happened to all the guff about plastic in the oceans and orcas on the jersey?

Inrng's take on it:
http://inrng.com/2019/03/ineos-to-takeover-team-sky/
I am not sure saying it is a shitty sponsor but then there are a lot of shitty sponsors in cycling quite works. The irony of the team launch at the Tour of Yorkshire when INEOS wants to frack the flipping moors is delicious, not sure they will get the reaction they are looking for.

I think the point is mob mentality. People moan about ineos but perhaps should clean their own houses first?
It's hardly like the rest of cycling is rosy, or peoples own employers. But it's easy to get behind the pack and hate on ineos, because someone else said you should.

Well I don't know about you but I try my hardest, and have done beach cleans as well. Walking along a beautiful beach like Rhossili Bay and seeing it covered it in plastics and rubbish of every description is heartbreaking, soul-destroying stuff, it makes you despair.
-
• #20418
Oh I agree. I'm just giving the other side.
Must be pretty shit for certain riders on the team who have integrity.
-
• #20419
Agree.

Back to cycling
-
• #20421
Fuck, MVDP and others just went down really hard in the final few hundred metres of Nokere Koerse. MVDP and maybe two others taken away on stretchers. Horrible to see that live.
-
• #20422
Horrible indeed. Hope they will all be back on the bike soon.
-
• #20423
He's OK. Hope the others are too. Team says he'll ride the scheduled races

I was quite keen to avoid seeing that crash but twitter served up the video as per usual.
Ooof - looked like cobbles as well.

Truth. I'd rather have Ineos on my back than Bahrain or UAE Emirates. Only just though.
Great TT effort from Yates, as I thought Roglic would have smashed him.
