How can someone take a rad painted pomp, ruin it with the choice of almost every other component, and then as the pièce de résistance, hang one of those light up scrotums on the back. Madness - someone liberate it!

I think if you're gonna have a paint job like that everything else has to be pretty understated. Its also pretty expensive, one went for £155 on ebay the other day, with much better components

Finally. Full conversion to 650B. Fun and comfy :-)

Super nice job man and a prime example of how a nice fork can transform a relatively simple frame.

Such an awesome Pomp.

Anyone willing to sell a large V3 or V4 pompino frame & fork (and ship to germany)? Would be great as I regret selling mine a lot...
-
• #7635
Looks super great! Which fork are you using?
-
• #7636
One built by Kajak Custom. (32mm offset, 375mm A-C, originally made for an All City Big Block) - so it changes the front-end geometry quite a bit.
-
• #7637
how BIG is the front disk?
looks huuuge! maybe cause of the 650 wheels -
• #7638
203mm?
-
• #7639
180 mm. Looks huge because of the wheel size I guess. Totally useless if I'm being honest (I don't go that fast and don't tackle big descents with this bike) - but it was that I had at hand at the time.
Once the rotor has worn out, I'll replace it with a 160mm. -

Talk to me about the brake set up - Trp hylex? Is the one not hosed up just a donor hydro leaver or is there anyway to match leavers with something less expensive.
I've been mulling over going disc on my Capo and the hylix is high on the list, but cable would probably be much easier.

Build a new bike, I'll take that off you
-
• #7642
Just because you keep saying it is not going to make it happen!

Mine currently
-
• #7644
Well. It may do eventually
-
• #7645
Looking good! There's definitely something about ratty Pomps
-
• #7646
Yup, Hylex.
As far as I know, there is no cheap way to get a matching lever.
Mine was from a pair I bought second hand for a few quids and had a leak, so I gutted it. -

Spring ride is sooo nice

V nice. What's the fork? And how far did you have to space out the cog for a decent chainline?
-
• #7649
the fork is an orlowski custom. I did't move the cog but incredibly is quite straight and noise free, i still need to add a chain link and maybe put a 17 in the back because 44x19 is ridiculous.

Ultegra + single ring : quite unusual ! What chainring are you using? Did you manage to find a 4-bolts wide ring for 1"1/8 chain ? Or is it for narrow chains?
