I can't find any update on whether the car has been found, or the condition of the rider.

Thanks, I hope so. However, note that the police sometimes unknowingly give inaccurate information and may not know the latest. It's always the best idea to rely on confirmed reports. Also, obviously, as long as he's not out of danger, there is still cause for worry.
