I think I'll do it.
I booked a hotel room when I entered as they were only £40 and that gives me a bit of a barrier against DNSing, and I get a lie in until 5:30am.
Shouldn't be too much rain but plenty of wind. I've been checking to see if the Severn bridge is open and it looks like it is. I did it in similar weather four years ago and the bridge was fine, although I lost my sunglasses over the side!I might not do the whole distance as I'm experimenting with an ism saddle and haven't got the position just right yet. Saddle is comfortable, esp in aerobars (which is the idea) but have had some knee niggles probably from going too low. Furthest I've ridden it is 70km so far, so if knee kicks off after 100km I'll find a train.
Re wind, west wind suits the route as much more sheltered on the way out, exposed coming back.
Looking ok during the day now but wet at night. I've got the parts to repair the crashed bike tonight but I'm not sure I can drag myself out of bed at 4am to drive to Oxford, lumber around and drive home.
How's your motivation at the moment?
