PHdesigns.
Or uniqlo.
Or rab.

I have the uniqlo one at £60, i don't really like the lack of drawstring or elasticated hood.
I might try the decathlon one next time

I would say RAB if you can spend. Mine has done things it shouldn’t have, but also never been tested like it should have. I have always felt the quality of it.

Agree with recommendation on Decathlon down, decent close fit (on me anyway) and great hood that is usable rather than a floppy fashion job

Not down, but primaloft, the Montane Prism might do the trick for you. Often just 60 notes on sale somewhere.

Thanks for the recommendation. How is the pack size?

Montane Prism
I have one of these, use it for casual commutes on cold days. It is ok for £60 but it isn't water or wind proof so keep that in mind, and not super breathable either. Pack size is ok but not 'down to an orange' like the Rapha jacket is.

Another vote for the decathlon down, if you're small on top and bigger on the arse, I'd size up.
It's a great jacket for sitting on the train post race, staying warm before the race, wearing as a layer under a waterproof when playing in the snow.
Best £30 on a jacket i've spent. -

Does anyone have a link to the particular down jacket from Decathlon?

Rab are no longer so good - manufacturing has gone downhill as they chase the streetwear crowd

It is windproof, and dwr thingy treated which is about as good as most of this type of jacket will get. Won't be ruined by a soaking like down could be either.
Breathability shouldn't be issue for @motoko if it's for wearing when stopped.
Pack size isn't tiny but there's plenty of 'give' that could compress down further, although I haven't done this yet.
Been really impressed with mine, you might be able to tell!

The decathlon forclaz discussed earlier in the thread is EXCELLENT.
Great hood, packs into its own pocket, super light. Just the right balance.

Did you get the 100 or 500 fill version?
-

yeah, maybe i came across as harsh earlier. It isn't a bad jacket and for £60 i think it is decent value

This one; the darker blue is really nice. Looks and feels really premium.
Also worth mentioning (something that I wasn’t aware of as a down noob) the toll rating isn’t the volume of down, but the quality/loftiness of it. Higher rating means more warmth for the same weight/bulk.
Looking for a down jacket with a small pack size I can use for stops on cold overnight rides. i.e. fixing a puncture or having to rest in a public loo at 3am on a silly audax like last weekend.
Rapha Explore jacket at 220 seems pricey. What else should I be looking at that I can stuff and have in the caradice. Similarly any other half sleeping bags like rapha's I should look at?
