yeah, we're coming around to that conclusion too, I think. Thanks everybody.

That’s really nice, what is it?
I’ve just inherited a Tudor from a distant family member. From a quick look on eBay it seems to be a model given after X years of service to British Rail.

Looks great, love those woven Tudor straps.

• #33755
heritage ranger? that strap looks way nicer on hand than it has in windows, lovely.

I would be all over one if they were a bit smaller... Hopefully the current fashion for smaller man bracelets will make them do that...

Thoughts needed - Longines logo crooked or just a dodgy angle on first photo?
-
• #33758
Nothing looks aligned in any of the photos but that is probably just the dial design on my eyes.

Put all the hands at twelve o'clock and take a photo in natural daylight trying to avoid distracting reflections... Can't tell from those pics at all...
Try to get it in focus as well... 🤡

@>>>>>>
Images lifted from a sale ad Shirley?Lots of bits look off to me, none of the hands are the right length (minute is waaay too long and what’s the lump on the end of the sub second?!).
Can you find other examples of this reference for comparison? There are plenty of these relatively cheap early dress watches around, hold out for better IMO.

Fwiw...hand length looks similar to others of the same ref
-
• #33762
Really? I can’t find an image where the hand extends beyond the minute track?
-
• #33763
I’m looking at the wrong post... sorry guys. Must stop posting before I wake up
Yeah, that’s a shocker

They're sellers photos - price is right and unusually big for a flagship of that era, 37mm without crown. 30L movement, would be nice but hard to tell if the dial hasnt been tampered with, I think the circle within the dial makes it harder to tell.

• #33765
Yep, fair points!
Thanks all, looked a bit moody alright!

• #33766
Apologies, thought it was already in your possession... 😘

I would like a Longines but it always seems to get pushed down the priority list.
This German company https://www.shucktheoyster.com/ takes lovely photos, easy to lose an hour browsing their sold adverts. Just don’t look at the prices.

That’s so much more tasteful than the one I’m selling 😂

They’ve done a pretty solid reissue of a similar reference with a copper-ish dial, a friend has one. It’s pretty nice apart from the sub seconds being a bit high due to the calibre they’ve had to use.

That’s what you get for trying to make an oversized watch with a normal movement. A Woll Smoth watch. Looks worse with chronographs though.
-
• #33771
Can't put my finger on it, but from the photos I don't like that at all.

Went with maroon, black and gold this morning in tribute (worst tribute ever tbh) to that Apollo 11 Speedy.

Yeah. Swatch group doing swatch group things. And it’s auto rather than manual, which means it’s also too thick.

OTT in a good way

Hard to compare them really, yours will sell because you always price stuff too cheap lol.
@Regal yeah, close but no cigar and that Clymer back story about how it’s based on his watch... #hoodwinkee
Finally caught up on that solid gold Speedmaster, I guess I like it but can’t help but feel cynical that it’s purely a revenue exercise (1000 odd pieces at £25K should gross £25m). I reckon that’s just a taster of what Omega have up their sleeves this year.
Have been wearing this a lot more recently. Thoroughly enjoying it.
