We're doing it anyway, what's a bank holiday if it isn't a wash out?!
Anyone else who's coming along drop me a PM and we can meet up. -
• #28
I'm doing it, my parents live over here so I came down yesterday.
Will be in an Islington CC Jersey so say hi if you see me
-

Didn't see this until after - where did you start from? PM me if you fancy a beer.
Weather much better than anticipated; managed to get 70k done before it started raining and it stopped around the 90k mark. Now to find food, tempted by the Indian takeaway down the road...
They've also done a great job on the roads, it's glorious riding in the sun on pristine asphalt!
Would be keen to do it again (maybe on the tandem) so if people decide to go again later in the year hit me up.

I'm going to do this next May with Brixton Cycles, will probably ride there and back into the bargain. Anyone on here going?
-
• #31
Will probably do it again, might try and get the tandem down too.

Cool. How gravelly is the gravel section?
-
• #33
Not very, fine on 25s

Yes, definitely doing it this year. Might be going with some others, but always nice to know who else may be around.

Sunday 5th May - I'll prob be riding to Lymington from bmth if you're around?
-
• #43
I’ll see if I can work something!

Being a bank holiday weekend, is it not problematically busy?
-
• #45
Luckily not having a bridge helps with this, ferries are busy but plenty of room for bikes. Roads not particularly busy on the island.
-
• #46
How refreshing, I quite fancy this.
-
• #47
@freezing77 you riding?
I'll probably go for the 7:15 ferry from Lymington, arriving in Cowes at 8:15.
Annoyingly return ferries are either 16:20 or 20:20 as other slots are booked-up. -

Most probably have registered just need all the moons to line up. i.e. my newish partner, my daughter who lives on the island etc etc.

Would really like to do this, having done it solo in the pouring rain last easter - although I've never done a checkpointed event before. Earning myself a badge to go with last year's fridge magnet memento would be grand!

Probably going to turn up the night before and camp. Will be camping at Kite Hill Campsite, where one of the checkpoints is.
WhatsApp group for people who want to ride/meet?
I am down for an alternative weekend when the weather is better!
