Anyone able to advise how a rear mudguard fits on an 2019 Arkose, without a rear seatstay bridge?

With a removable bridge

Ah. Would you, or anyone else happen to have a picture? I'm wondering whether it clamps on to the seatstay directly, or bolts on somehow.
[Edit - forgot to say that I don't have an Arkose. Partly due to supply headwinds in the Arkose vertical, I have ended up with a Canyon Grail, which has superficially similar mount points, but does not come with a seatstay bridge, so am doing research into how it might be bodged]

New bike?

I've read somewhere that it bolts. Got a similar arrangement in my Vitus, works great, and you can have a custom bridge machined if you need something out of the ordinary

Wowzers, spent the last few days looking through this thread, changed my mind 847629 times about what bike to get and have settled on the Arkose. Should have just read the title really

Have you considered the Triban?

I have/am. That was/is the main contender to be honest. Wont be buying until next month anyway so still plenty of time to change my mind back and forth.
And to be honest I am swaying more towards the road versions as they seem to have more than enough clearance for a tyre that's a little chunkier (I was only looking at gravel because i like me a fat/comfy tyre). So would still be between the 520 and Arkose R1

you might want a 3rd rear light?

But the ribble ?

don't worry, it's in the works.

I bloody love my RC 520 fwiw.

it literally might come to whether i can be bothered to drag an old BMX i have in my shed to a shop to do the Evans £75 trade in

Is that the road or gravel one? What’s the difference apart from price?
-
• #7347
I have the road one. The gravel one has flared bars, a different paint job and 35mm Hutchinson Override tyres (the road one comes with some own brand 28mm). The frame, as far as I can tell, is identical.

Never quite sure if replyee is alerted to edits on the post they are replying to...

So, a similar custom machined bridge is exactly what I've thinking of...
Oh, the Grail was supposed to have dedicated mudguards available, but they aren't.
Does it go without saying that a seatstay mount is essential for proper rear mudguard, in addition to securing to mounts near rear dropout and mount on seattube?

Are you sure you don't have some short of bracket in the spares you get with the bike? That canyon looks like is designed to use mudguards.

You can make a bridge out of two P clips pointing into the middle of the seat stays that will be more than adequate for just holding a guard.
Meh, I'm stuck. Can't find a decent 2000-ish euro gravel bike with belgian dealerships:
You guys got any suggestions?
