  • I swapped out all of our MR16 GU5.3 bulbs with MR16 GU10 LEDs

    It did mean a bit of rewiring though - cutting out the transformers & wiring in GU10 connectors - but that seemed worth it, as to change the bulbs to LED, I would have needed to swap the transformers to work with LEDs

  • Ideally I'd like to not rewire the whole kitchen or have to do much at all. Got enough unfinished jobs around the house without starting on a new one! We don't have a problem with the type of bulbs or the light warmth etc, just that they keep blowing.

  • I've not rewired - just pulled out the downlights, snipped off the transformers & connectors, and wired in the new connectors

    (NB - the downlighters I have a connector box attached - otherwise you should be connecting the wires withing a choc-box)

    (I'm pretty sure none of this is notifiable, whereas rewiring would be)
