Mac can generally read from NTFS but not write to, as you’ve found. There are ways of forcing it, but I’d just copy the files to the Mac and use a FAT32 or ExFAT formatted usb drive to move the files to windows.
The Mac drive will be HFS or APFS and may or may not be using a different partition map.
I've been given an external HDD with some files that appears to be in a Mac format (I can't see it on a windows PC). I've plugged it into a colleague's mac and it works but I can't copy the files onto my Windows (NTFS I assume) external HDD.
What format is a Mac formatted HDD, ext4 or something else? What formats can a Mac write to? Cheers
