  • Saw it the other night. Truth is always stranger than fiction eh?!

  • Lego movie 2: Enjoyed 1, enjoyed this one too. Despite the "not as good as 1" reviews, still well scripted with fun setpieces.

My 9 year old liked it too.

  • Spiderman into the the spiderverse was amazing.

  • Wonderful losers is on youtube right now in italian

  • Not sure what to make of If Beale Street Could Talk, great story, powerful last twenty minutes but like a James Baldwin essay I found it hard going.

  • Just saw Apollo 11 at imax. Wow. Incredible. Properly moving stuff if you’re a fan of space. Has a lump in my throat the entire time. Just amazing.

  • You Were Never Really Here, lovely little movie, Joaquin Phoenix is really good in it...

  • They live. (Yep it's old)

Suffering from 80s action cheese / bad guys can't aim and more in the very light end of satire (society /videodrome deal with similar themes) but well filmed and lots of small details / moments and the glasses scenes make it worth a watch.

  • Enjoy films a lot so I thought it’d pipe in with my latest cinematic experiences:

-Climax: felt dizzy but overall I think good.
    -Captain Marvel: better than expectations.
-Free Solo: seen it twice now and not into climbing at all but go and see it whilst it’s on a big screen.
Roma: I saw this orginally on Netflix but I went to see it today in the cinema. I think it might be the best made film I’ve ever seen. The beach scene with good sound is incredible

  • They live.

Is fun and clever. One of the many John Carpenter classics. Not as good as Big Trouble in Little China though

  • you spelled "The Thing" wrong.

    otherwise ya.

  • I Don't Feel At Home in this World Anymore is a gem. David Yow in the cast made me glad.
Saw The Nice Guys after long intentions. Well worth it. Could've done with less plot and more titting about.

  • hunt for the wilderpeople, caught the 2nd half on tv last week
loved the characters and the scenery story was nicely written
hope it recycles on tv soon so i can watch the whole thing

  • Fuel for any number of conspiracy theories ofc ;-)

+1 for "You were never really here"

  • Another for ‘You Were Never Really Here’ , really enjoyed it and think Joachim Phoenix has a great career ahead.
‘Leave No Trace’. Watched last night and also excellent, great pace...

  • As opposed to the great career he's been experiencing for years now?

  • I meant that in terms of how good he was in this performance he looks like a ‘real’ future prospect. Since Gladiator and Walk the Line I had only been that aware of him in Inherent Vice, which wasn’t all that good, my least favourite PTA film. If I’ve missed any great performances, I would love to be educated.

  • "No country for old men", where his haircut alone was worth an Oscar. Contrast that with Skyfall, which shamefully underused him as the campest Bond villain yet. The films may vary in quality but his range is awesome.

  • Wasn’t that Javier Bardem?

  • Oh, doh, shoot me in the head.

  • This is going to haunt me now. More than it already did, I mean.

  • It’s ok, I was only asking and there may be some great roles Joachim was in that I missed, but after all this is not the bike porn thread after all :)
