My wife is looking for a new watch, perhaps someone can help recommend one.
Requirements:
- male dress watch, but not too large
- a white/cream face and classic design
- highly readable (hand contrast against face good, numerals easy to read, etc)
- leather strap, ideally brown
- budget of up to £500 (so quartz acceptable)
- durable enough to take some knocks (occasionally gets thrown into her rucksack)
- male dress watch, but not too large

Quartz Max bill?
Someone's got one for sale on here

I just showed her and she said... nope.
She kinda liked a Christopher Ward (the strap was classically cut and mid-brown)), and half considered a Longine face (but hated the strap).

I wouldn't focus too much on the strap, you can switch it out for something you like

I’m sure you can find a Seiko or two that fit those requirements.

That's where we just got to over coffee 😊

Because the lume dots are misaligned, the 24 hour numerals are off centre, and the date window is an abomination?

Might be worth checking out Baume & Mercier's new "younger" offshoot, Baume. You can customise them to an extent.

Because you also sell Speedmasters.
this ^ x100
The problem with that breitling is that it's trying to do everything. Chronograph, GMT, date, guilloche dial. They also couldn't make it larger than the regular (non-GMT) Transocean which is 43mm, so have ended up with a case height of almost 16mm. It's a nice in-house movement but honestly most Breitling buyers are more interested in whether their watch matches their Bentley or not rather than jizzing over the movement.
Put that against a Speedmaster Pro with a 14mm height and there's no question which is more comfortable to wear / nicer to look at. And I don't even like speedmasters :)

I’ll happily take that Racing MkII off your hands then ;)

We have a winner.
Thank you

Georges Kern is sorting Breitling out now and the Navitimer 8 is a nice collection. They've just been stuck in the '90s for far too long, making horrible, oversized, flashy, shit watches and trying to sell them with black & white photos of Brad Pitt in a tuxedo.

Nice one, no problem. Just check the sizing out because the designs are unisex but I think the sizes are either 35mm or 41mm. Nothing in between.

Well Heuer prices seem to be flatlining maybe the right Rindt will prompt a Freddo flash sale. 🤞
Also if anyone is after a Tudor Heritage chrono I have a bit of a bargain at mo.....
