Really liking the new V4, shame it's not made from higher quality tubing and I'm surprised it's only for sale in Japan currently. Considering my V1 only rarely sees the streets these days then this would just be an extravagance!

"So the V4 Gangster?
The V4 was in the works with W-Base before Brooklyn had to close its shop doors in 2016. From BMW’s earliest days, W-Base (the coolest bike shop in Tokyo) has been our main distributor of Brooklyns in Tokyo for 20 over
years. Fast forward to 2019, and we decided to pick it back up. They will be handling all sales/distribution of the V4s.
So some basic information about these bikes:
There will be frame and fork kits, completes and yes, fork only.
There will be three sizes, small, medium and large.
There will be three colors-Black, Clear and of course, Orange.
They will have removable front and rear canti-mounts with removable cable guides
They will be available in early summer, and W-Base is taking pre orders. And that includes international orders !!!! That all said, there are many more facts and many more questions, and this is a big undertaking. W-Base is BMW family and will be doing their best to make this the beginning of more Brooklyn things coming... so please be patient and excited at the same time"

@jv @swedeee still owning this baby, it’s my second V1 Large (58) and plan is to weld Canti stud on the rear triangle to go SSCX with it (my other one is strictly break less)
Would be so nice to find amovible BMW CNC stud seems impossible to get..
I had only dress it with bin parts at the moment, but this will change..

Yeah, inspired from the removable canti mounts pic you posted (which are from a Hawk BMX) I asked around about getting some made a year or two ago but dropped the idea cause getting some custom made costed too much. Everyone suggested getting some brazed on.
I didn't end up doing it cause Ben, the owner of the bike with drops you posted, said they sucked for some reason that I can't remember and got them removed.Also, did you end up buying those brakes? Hot!

A relatively simple solution would be buying a metal V brake booster, welding two M10 x 1.25 nuts on each side, screwing in some brake bosses and securing it to the frame with some hose clamps. Cheap? Yes. Aesthetically pleasing? Nope.
Edit: probably wouldn't work so well on the V1's due to the lack of a brake bridge, which would keep it centered. -

I never got round to it, but kept meaning to try one of those sram auto 2 speed coasters on the back with a V brake upfront. Might not be tough enough for CX duties.
The guy from Oak cycles but the brake studs on, what happened to them?

Just try it, might be fun, might suck. I've got no idea but generally am not a big fan of coaster hubs.
I think his handle on here was Nice_ben but can't remember why he didn't get on with them. Maybe they got the spacing wrong or stopping power was not adequate. -

Are the V1's the only ones made of true temper? Are the v2 and 3 crmo?
