  • If it’s the right earphone that is the master, with the left being the slave, and the phone is on the left hand side of your body, this can cause issues.

    Haha, gotta love bluetooth.

  • Killed my last wireless headphones - cheap £11 ones from Amazon.

Anyone have experience with the Jaybird Tarah? @JB how are those wireless earbuds for exercise etc - reckon I should still hold off a bit?

  • Aukey Latitude from amazon are superb. for 25 quid and a 2 yr warranty. I had one pair break - my fault - a new pair sent straight away. Got my nephew the on ear BT versions which he broke in a week - again replaced. really cant fault them. Spent ages looking at spending loads of cash and so glad i didnt.

  • Good for gym and running? No lag and good sound etc?

  • Totally. Honestly great sound for £25.
3 different ear bits and the weird wing bits. I wear mine running. Bluetooth Aptx which I think is the latest version...

  • Ok let’s see how they hold up 👍

  • They make an exercise version @tenderloin but I don’t think these are secure enough for exercise. I also don’t think you need high end audio quality for exercise. I’d just buy something cheap and cheerful for that.

  • Saw the sennheiser momentum 2.0 heavily discounted. My Beyerdynamic DT770 is starting to show some wear so might want to update. Worth it?

  • Does anyone have a bluetooth DAC?

I'm looking at the Radsone Earstudio ES100. Really good reviews and lots of great features, and would let me use my Flare R2A headphones rather than letting them gather dust in the drawer.

  • Wore these for a run today - pretty decent I’d say. The cord maybe Felt a bit heavy for running

  • In my hunt for headphones with a short cable I ended up buying a short cable with MMCX connectors and these earphones to go with them (about £30 all in).

They sound OK but lack a bit of bass and the sound isolation is poor so thought I'd try some different tips, maybe some triple flange or foam ones. How do I work out what tips would fit them? The tube at the end seems to be ~ 5mm.

  • Comply are great

  • i wear the cord round the back. I like the sound for the price :)

  • Yes, I've got some comply tips for other headphones but these aren't listed on their site so I've no idea which tips would fit (the ones I already have, T100, definitely don't).

  • Foam:
    -Comply T500 (4.5mm) , comply T400 (5mm)
    -Dekoni Mercury 4.9mm
-Or multitude of aliexpress foam tips like these comply copies

  • Cheers, exactly what I was trying to find.

  • Is that the uBTR?

    How do you find it?

I'm trying to find any excuse to not spend £100 on the Radsone ES100 I linked to above.

  • Out of the whole bunch I like Mandarin symbio. Hybrid silicone tips with foam insert, very good isolation compare to normal silicone and they last much longer than foams. Made in Hungary, free postage and they do sales sometimes.
if foams Dekoni is very nice, better than comply and last a bit longer, but 20 pairs for $10 aliexpress can't beat that

  • “Have you tried comply foam tips?” is the “have you considered cycle training?” of the headphones thread.

  • Most accurate though. The Shure olive tips are still my fave though. Unsure if they're manufactured by comply but the non-porous outer surface means they don't deteriorate.

  • Shure olives also was my favourites, I still have box of size M that I have no use anymore, can't put them on any my current earphones as 5mm nozzle become industry standard ages ago

  • It seems fine. Connection is pretty solid (although it does seem to struggle a bit when I leave my house and the wi-fi is disconnecting, I suspect that's a problem with the phone though) and sound quality is OK (it uses AptxX which isn't available on every phone). Certainly does the job for £20.

I've not really used it with decent headphones though so couldn't comment definitely on how it performs in a decent setup. I read reports that it's a bit underpowered for driving bigger headphones but I've no plans on using it for that.

There are quite a range of Fiio ones between that price and the Radsone one you linked, not really sure how they all compare. The BTR3 is meant to be the best I think but not tried it.

  • Cheers, I think I'll start with the Aliexpress option. These headphones are often in my pockets with my keys and change so am looking at budget options to start.

  • I have an absolutely terrible problem where I think, well if I'm spending X then I might as well spend a little more.

Which is how I've ended up at the Radsone. It's £70 for the BTR3, which appears to have everything I need, but I start reading reviews and audio nerds say the Radsone is better and the app with it makes it really impressive and customisable, so I think, what's another £30?

    Basically I have problems
