Sorry, I was probably being grumpy. Probably fine for occasional use. Due to IT background I tend to over-specify. Also for 2.5" you don't need a power adaptor so that means they are cheaper and less to go wrong.

No you were just right.
It's really a dumb idea to buy the cheapest possible plastic garbarge for data that you probably care about.

Do you have a budget recommendation?

Fwiw the data is backed up elsewhere. It's about having a protective case to make storing easy as anything else. (they are currently residing in the new SSDs packaging)
