Simplybearings.co.uk?

Would make reporting easy enough but I'm guessing there's also some requirement for input too?

Can tableau import CSV?
-
• #95955
@starfish&coffee
This is why I wondered what it actually is you need. You could replicate the Access database in MySQL and rewrite all the reports etc by hand and technically tick all the boxes and it'd be woefully out of date compared to something like Tableau or Looker.
Pretend you don't have the Access database and ask what people need to be able to do

What’s my best and cheapest option for sending an iPhone from the uk to Sweden with insurance to cover it if it gets nicked?

How are these so cheap? http://www.bumblebeebikes.co.uk/classic/?fbclid=IwAR0EkzuMnM7B1lrUb4o6MC_4drERQ4eek7wlI7nVEvvpUKqe0ze0xy9mqVA
That's the price of a Brompton.

Agree with @duncs said. Especially the last line. This should be treated like a project, because it is one, however small.
That doesn't mean hiring a PM and team of analysts, but doing some analysis before jumping to solutions. Even if it's just a few PowerPoint slides.
Think in terms of what people actually need to do their job, where the current solutions are inadequate in those terms and other factors, e.g. risk of the while thing crashing, legal risk.
Then consider multiple solutions, including stating with what you have and building a completely new custom system from scratch.

..and if you skip analysis, the danger is you find yourself using the system which looked nicest/was the cheapest to set up/was what your CEO's golf partner sells, but doesn't actually do what it was expected to.

the price of a Brompton.
Because they're cheaply made in a country with a low cost of production and small margins. The opposite of a Brompton.
What will really blow your mind though is that if you buy >10 it's less than $400:

Treat the Access solution as an experimental prototype. Use as the basis of your proposed schema and functionality.
Or keep access as the front end but move the data into SQL Server, which should help you plan and transition.

Review just landed
https://cyclingtips.com/2019/02/shimano-pd-es600-ultegra-spd-pedal-review/Suggests that it doesn't hang like you'd hope, as was mentioned on here.

That was published in Feb - and is the sole review I was referring to

Well fuck. I'll just see myself out...

Having a bit of a slow moment. I've got a couple of HDDs after upgrading to SSDs on our laptops.
Is this what I need to turn them into external hard drives?
Cheers
-
• #95966
Well, as a consolation, if I ever buy them you will be first to read my full review
-
• #95967
You know if you were prepared to spend more than the cost of a flat white, you might even get a product description that made sense?
Yes, it will take a regular laptop HDD. But expect it to stop working when you need it, SATA-USB bridges are notoriously shit.
-
• #95968
More likely I'll stumble across it a month later and not note the date....
-
• #95969
Do you have a budget recommendation?
It didn't strike me as the sort of thing that needed to be expensive, and was exactly the sort of thing you'd go to aliexpress for.
Also worth noting that it probably won't get much use, but it seems easier to keep the old HDDs in neat boxes that can be plugged in if needed, rather than borrowing a sata port connector thingy from my mate as I have done so far.

Laptop or Tablet? I want about one Terabyte.
For music storage, photos editing and web surfing.
Exclusively Apple til now, but open to options as long as I don't have to learn html. -
• #95971
Sorry, I was probably being grumpy. Probably fine for occasional use. Due to IT background I tend to over-specify. Also for 2.5" you don't need a power adaptor so that means they are cheaper and less to go wrong.

Cheers.
Hope today goes better for you - at least its the weekend :)

Looking for a new bag - is anyone making messenger bags with PAC Designs quality/features?
-
• #95974
Sorry, I was probably being grumpy.
No you were just right.
It's really a dumb idea to buy the cheapest possible plastic garbarge for data that you probably care about. -
• #95975
As before;
Do you have a budget recommendation?
Fwiw the data is backed up elsewhere. It's about having a protective case to make storing easy as anything else. (they are currently residing in the new SSDs packaging)
Thanks
