Yes! Loved my old Inbred, rigid all the way! The Confucius bars?
-
• #3
Nice colour, subbd

The Confucius bars?
https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/298772/ I managed to snap up a pair of these when they were released and then unreleased
-
• #5
Fu-man chu is the name of the bars, had forgotten sorry
Or stedloops, to give them their proper title
-
• #6
But what fork?
-
• #7
I honestly have no idea. I'm drawn to surly because mounts, and the frame isn't light to start with
-
• #8
Mounts are essential when building a 26 inch functional build.
-
• #9
I'm thinking: single speed, rigid, alpkit lovemud bars
100% And not only because I want a bike just this as well.
-
• #10
Get a sus fork. Rock shox recon or something. They’re so cheap and so much more fun than rigid.
Definitely go singlespeed
Put short stem and wiiiiiide bars on (I can sell you both) -
• #11
Oh yes, and cheap hydro shimano brakes. I love deore 615s.
-
• #12
If you're planning on staying in Eindhoven for a while you're more or less obliged to get something like this!
-
• #13
It's so appealing. Comfortable, go nearly anywhere, chilled
-
• #14
Put short stem and wiiiiiide bars on (I can sell you both)
I was ready for this. What do you have?
Get a sus fork
Less ready for this.
They're so ugly! And I'm scared of the maintenance, and I'm not sure if I actually need one? -
• #15
on one el guapo black/stealth decals 45mm stem, 200k use
plus
race face respond low rise 785mm bar, never used
£30 plus postage? RRP would be £45ish -
• #16
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323724652216?ul_noapp=true could be a vibe for the fork (or could it, i have no idea)
-
• #17
bargain boingy forks = fun
can take the decals off = not ugly in the least -
• #18
To be honest I've opened my mind to suspension, but not to spending nearly 4x the cost of the frame on a set of forks
I might be interested in the stem but am crazy busy atm - I'll message about it after the weekend if that's okay?
-
• #19
Those forks look like they have a tapered steerer - not sure if the OP's frame does...?
-
• #20
sure thing
-
• #21
Am I right in thinking a longer stem would be smart for with the alpkit bars? Because of the backsweep
-
• #22
I’ve got some sus forks you could have for cheap if you like. Think they’re rockshox xc32 tk? That’s off the top of my head, I can drag them out of the shed if you’re interested.
-
• #23
How cheap is cheap? Pm me if you like
-
• #24
long stems are lame
-
• #25
Shite handling is lamer. If I can dibs that stem off you in any case and I can just try it. It'll be grand with risers if not with the loop bars
Min budget, max rad
Haven't got a clue what I'm doing
Collected from Charity Bike Shop near Manchester this morning
I'm thinking: single speed, rigid, alpkit lovemud bars
