Fixed up an old Peugeot mixtie for my girlfriend. Swapped out old 27" wheels for a pair of 700c wheels I found at home. Now running a 40c on the front with clearance for a 38c on the back.
Just need a new saddle as this one is just foam and springs.

Had some spare time this afternoon so explored some local trails and tested out the new bag I got to replace the Rando bag I toured with. Seems good so far, it's just hanging a bit low so got some tyre rub when pushing it a bit harder.

Makes the bike look even more purposefull!
What about a small rack to keep the bag steady and off the treads? -

I've got a gaspipe stem on its way that is taller, hopefully that will solve the clearance issue.

That cotic is great. Just a dynamo and lights away from func pron

That's a good solution too!

New Surly front rack for my girlfriends rockhopper. Will be getting a Wald basket and zeitgeist bag as well.
It's not light, but it sure feels good and solid

Naively agreed to rebuild my brothers bike for Christmas. No good before pictures but suffice to say he hasn't looked after it.
Long story short; It's since been repainted and everything has been stripped, degreased and rebuilt. Levers are too low because he insists that he prefers it that way, but otherwise it's running lovely. Even with Campy drivetrain and Shimano wheels and cassette.

Looks great. Your brother better look after it now!

Good job! Bottle cages ID?
-
• #92
It's a first aid kit from an army surplus store that I added straps to

The cages are Phillips road cages. Look really nice, but don't seem super secure unfortunately

Went for a NYE mission into the mountains. Beautiful trails and got to try out new packing arrangements on both bikes.
Unfortunately packed too light and forgot some essentials while bringing a bunch of stuff we didn't really need. Regardless a generally nice and not too traumatic time was had by all and we're looking forward to getting out more!

Both bikes and pics look awesome!
Such a shame NYE is cold around here, otherwise I'm sorely tempted to get out of the city on that occasion. -

Refreshed my old commuter bike that's been sitting at my parents for the last 5 years.
It's an old Healing 10-speed that got stripped and converted to fixed years ago. Since being back I've changed the cranks to a much more knee friendly 42t, as well as some big old cruiser bars that came off my girlfriends Peugeot. Keeping an eye out for a Wald basket for the front and then I'm calling it done.

Uh, very classy that!

Been having issues with my knee for the last few months but it finally seems to be getting better. Celebrated by cycling the Molesworth muster which is 180km of gravel through the center of the South Island.
Might have been a bit ambitious but managed to get through without too much damage. Bike performed fantastically, definitely feeling justified in moving to full bike packing gear.

With the move back to New Zealand and mountains on my doorstep I figured the Cotic could do with a reprieve.
Enter, the first complete bike I've bought this decade. Have a few longterm plans for it including an angleset and new brakes, but in the meantime it's just good to be riding mountain bikes again!

Long brace on that seattube, looks rad!
Awesome views on your travels. Just awesome.
