Wise move... I say it every year but feel this really is a year where we will see some changes... new Mac Pro, possible 16inch MBP (but likely bumps all round anyway), Navi GPU's... Previously mentioned lad tested the Vega VII with MBP and Desktop Threadripper and the difference in FPS was around 10% which is pretty impressive IMO.
And thats in gaming, grown up tasks it may fair even better due to the way games are CPU + GPU bound.
