I can't be the only one to have had rock strikes there. Not from hitting static object but from small rocks being thrown up by the front wheel. Think it's a good idea. Far from essential but why not...?

Was in Decathalon in High St Kensington today, with my Triban, and the mechanic asked if he could show my bike with the fitted tubeless 38's to a couple of their bike designers, who happened to be there.. Apparently they are having a big debate about the retail price in the Uk for the new gravel version..

if i used a carbon frame on gravel i'd be pretty happy to have a guard there

I know carbon is super strong but i'm also fairly sure most carbon frames aren't designed to withstand the sort of strikes you can get from stones riding gravel (Uk style rocky gravel, not the dirt/dust that seems common in the US)
