Just dug out a picture of it as it was in 1996... stayed this way until about 3 weeks ago. The tyres were fitted in early 2000s I think, along with bar tape, and stem, but otherwise unchanged. Never did like that stem but there weren't many available back then that had the removable plate making it easier to change bars. Second picture was taken last year, after a few bits were updated. Other than the tyres and bar tape, still got all the original equipment. Will try to fix the shifters but not holding my breath.

Nice! Not bad for a steel one, all-up. Like the build. 👍🏻

Thanks, it's done me well over the winter. Very different feel to my other road bike, but good for long, steady miles.

This was Dave's attempt at building the 'lightest possible steel audax frameset'. Built for himself then sold at a jumble, then resold to me. Weighs 1650g for frame and fork.
Has a custom tubing sticker 'FAS' which means 'Fucking all sorts', apparently.
This is brilliant! Lovely bike too.

Thought I'd better post my M Steel/Dave Yates audax bike. Think it's a noughties era frame, so the noughties era Campagnolo groupset seems to fit quite well. And my gosh does it ride beautifully. Worked out at about 8.5kg all in, which isn't bad for a 62 frame.

Wow! 8.5kg for a steel audax bike with guards on!? I want one!
Nice colour. Excellent choice. -

Sorry, just checked the numbers and that's without the guards, so just a shade over 9 with them on, which is still nice for a gate! You can't see it in the pics but the frame is a sort of deep candy red colour with a lovely glitter effect. It really does shine.

Had to go and check mine (the one at the top of the page). 8.5 with guards!
My purple/blue sparkle this morning.

Finally got my Joe Waugh built, swapped out the Campag Athena groupset which is going on another build and ended up fitting an Shimano 105 groupset.

Gorgeous. Love the colour combination.

Thanks dude :) I had issues with the front tan walled tyre as the valve core snapped so had to fit an all black one until I find a replacement tan walled tubular

Not sure where to ask this... I have a Joe Waugh frame with Reynolds 531c tubing stickers but Columbus dropouts... Does it sound ok? No other markings besides the SN 7106. On the other hand who would fake tubing on a JW ? Thanks
