Rim width wise regarding a 2.3" tyre, could I get away with 23mm internal?
I'd ride it, especially if you're at road pressures; people out there are still MTBing on 20mm or less
Not sure about rim choice but for touring/gravel probably better to err on the side of strong/heavy rather than weenie/weak right? But that's not to say the 400g is definitely the stronger.
Has something happened to your glorious Muddy Fox or you just fancy a change?
Rim width wise regarding a 2.3" tyre, could I get away with 23mm internal? Or should I go 26mm? For the rims I'm eyeing now it's a 75g difference per rim (325g vs 400g roughly).
My question basically is: what will be more noticeable, the lower weight of the wheels or the better handling(?) of the wider rims?
This is for a touring/gravel bike. No extreme cornering or whatever.
