Just you wait untill we are sat in the railway cathedral that is York Station this Easter
-
• #53
Thoughts on finishing in time for Omloop? Not sure of planned pace for this.
-
• #54
Good luck to those doing this, looks tough (but, beautiful) route even for geared.
-
• #55
+1 best of luck, and have fun. Can't wait to see the photos
-
• #56
Had to Google that :) No idea - what time does it start?
-
• #57
Well it’s a 100k loop, so we should be done in about 4h I reckon.
-
• #58
Hope everyone has good walking shoes. Good luck.

You haven't factored in me slowing you down :D
I think 4 hours is optimistic.
-
• #60
Wow 4 hours is beast mode even on gears! I’m glad I don’t have a track bike anymore so can’t join you!
These are serious hills- steep, crap road surface and often windy. Good luck -
• #61
5 hour 'moving' time + cake stop(s), surely?
-
• #62
There are hills that some of you will do a little bit of walking on tomorrow. Plan for 5-6 hours rolling time plus cake stops.
Probably back in to Sheff for 4ish, just before the rain kicks in.
No van for me tomorrow so will meet you at the station and ride to the edge of town with you then meet later for beers.

I think it finishes around 4...catch-up in the evening as sore legs are swannied it is then.

Doing it right
-
• #65
Well what can I say, my "estimate" was a bit tongue in cheek! I wouldn’t want to do 100k in 4h, it doesn’t allow time for cake, coffee, cigarettes and brandy.

Heads up we've been split onto two trains due to bike reservation issues. The first four of us are planning on heading to the steam yard for coffee and pastry when we arrive. Any of team North want to meet us at the station or meet there?
-
• #67
I'll meet you guys at the station
-
• #68
Cool, train is just on a go slow on the way into the station.

8 mad March hares out on the inaugural HDP, 7 on fixed. Will find out if I've given them a good route later at the pub.

Live update: Clement has scuppered his aim of completing the route in 4hrs by ordering a full English breakfast in Hope.

I eagerly await a report of walking numbers on Winnats Pass. I'm boldly predicting 5 out of 7 of the fixed. Hard to tell with Clement with that full English, smokes and inevitable tug of brandy. I give him 50:50.

Live update 2: Some of us did some walking. Others disappeared to fix a tubeless tyre issue. Clement ate an ice cream. We’re now in the Lavender Tea Rooms in Bakewell.

Well jel folks. Looks like a grand day for a long ride and short stroll.
Thank you squire. Realised shortly after seeing that you had replied that I could probably have copied and pasted that from somewhere... Soz!
@onyerbike it's up to you I guess? I'm totally happy to get there a bit earlier to help try and chat up the manager, but not sure how functional I'll be at that time of morning.
