Hey guys, I don't read the forum very often but I do get an email if I'm mentioned (perhaps I'll appear if I've mentioned 3 times...?).
Indeed, the cycle task force has been disbanded and responsibility for cycle theft falls to individual boroughs (or Basic Command Units as they are called these days - I can't keep up). This does mean however that there is no overall strategy or specialist knowledge/drive to tackle the problem.
If anyone does need advice, I'm still happy to be contacted which is why I maintain my account here. I won't be able to get back to you immediately but if it's non urgent, drop me a PM here or mention me in a post and I'll see it.
Ta, Kieran.

I'm pretty sure this was sold on Facebook a few days ago but the Ad is gone now so I can't find the link
-
• #14264
do you know which Facebook group it was on?
-
• #14265
No, I don't really use facebook, a friend of mine sent me the link because I used to have one of these frames way back when. But the link is dead now. I think it was on the facebook marketplace thingy
-
• #14266
could you post the link - may try and contact facebook/police to see if the sale can be tracked down
would be a great help !
-
• #14268
thank you! if your friend could remember anything about the post (a big ask I know) that would be amazing - facebook are making it very difficult to report the link

It was literally "remember you had one of these". He didn't look in any detail.
I noticed it had the same cranks as the one you pictured above as well as the rear brake with the cable taped to the top tube but I didn't read the ad other than look at the picture. Sorry I don't have more to help you -

No worries - got a bit carried away with hope, have emailed the police and Facebook who are batting me off against each other but fingers crossed and thank you so much for the lead !

Pretty brazen, but not quick enough (the would-be thief, that is):
Nice how 6.5k becomes 65k in the URL. :)

So, my partner was mugged in Tottenham last night. They took his bike - matt black Pinnacle Arkrose 3, from 2016(?) I think, with a tubus fly rack fitted. Keeping an eye out in the usual places, but if anyone sees something, please let me know. It's a beloved bike - he's been all over europe on it.
