  • Depending on where you are the wheelset for my next bike is at Stayer in Leytonstone. I'm sure it'll be fine to drop in to say hello and see how the front wheel fits. Same thing, WTB Horizons.

  • ya, 15mm TA though. N10 now, if you still have my number shoot me a text.

  • For my pinnacle so 15mm TA is perfect! I'm working late tonight but maybe tomoz? Will text

  • I wont be home till late tonight or tomorrow, but we can organise by text.

  • What's the word on 650b rim brake rims?

  • What style?

  • Silver? Not fussed about other aspects.

  • Pacenti, velo orange, sjs. In price decsending order.

  • I was looking at the Thorn ones on SJS but I don't get the pic, are the eyelets completely offset? First I've seen that on a box section rim.

  • Who posted the German ones?

  • Look pretty central to me, no offset.

  • Am I hallucinating then??

  • ... what holes?

  • Yep. Trick of the light. They taper down from the eyelets to the sidewall ,to my eyes anyway.

  • that's the top of the rim, yeah? It's a U-shape + you can't see the back of it. Only the top and right side.

I did manage to trick my brain into seeing what you're seeing though. It's the 45° bit between the flat top and the vertical side tricking you into thinking it's a flat top with offset eyelets:

  • @frankenbike

That'll be all folks. See you next week for another episode of moron sees what!

  • What are you building?

  • Question for the masses

Would this tyre (mud king 27.5 x 1.8, nominally 47mm across) fit my kinesis Tripster AT? Has anyone tried it?

Kinesis give slightly contrasting information on what’s possible with the fork quoted for 45mm and the frame for 52mm for 700c but no 650b

Looking at this photo, you can clearly fit a 650b x 47 slick in.

For a mud tyre that isn’t massive, it seems like a good cheap option but i suspect it might be too tight to fit and have mud clearance.

  • With a sendaro tyre, which seems to be just fine?

  • A mixte for all road. A Gravel Mixte. A Grixte!

  • Got a 650b all silver wheel set for sale.

Velocity atlas laced to Shimano 105 10spd hubs.

I don’t think they’ve ever been used- rims look unused and hubs look like they might have been laced up previously but in excellent / new condition.

Any interest here? Quite difficult to find a nice looking 650b rim brake wheel set in silver!

Another rim brake set, well priced i reckon

  • Finally converted my Surly Pacer to 650b and low trail. Many thanks to @Alb for the Masi fork.

Only ridden a 100 miles or so, but all good so far - it still rides like a bike, just a bit cushier and with more 'precise' steering.

Now thinking of getting a front rack and making a rando style bag for it. Looking at Nitto M-18 or the VO Randonneur Rack with p-clips; does anyone have any recommendations?
