Forget the Blackburn, it’s far too flimsy for general use never mind off road.
Pizza rack is v sturdy and could fit the bill. Wider platform is much more useful I find.

Forgot I owned a pizza rack! looks to have excellent potential: plenty of mud clearance around a 4" tyre, panniers sit nice and low. I just need to find a strut to fit to the fork crown.

BLB front rack vs Pelago ? Any thoughts?

Looking to sell my Tu rack as I no longer use it. It's the first model that they were making which has had replacement legs which are apparently stronger than the originals of which a lot of people had snap at the welds. Posting here before putting up an ad.

Pelago quality is superior. Excellent rack. BLB is “cheap”

Quite interested in that bigxtop bag if you're still interested in selling?

OK Pelago stans, I bought the rack, now how do I fit my dynamo light to it? Is there something I can 3D print or do I gotta get a nitto widget

The rack comes with a light bracket.. What kind of light do you have?
-
• #714
It's an edelux, after posting I was googling around to see how to fit a light and lo and behold discovered that indeed, the rack comes with a light bracket.
I got a shop to fit the rack and they'd said they'd had a devil of a time trying to work out how to mount my light. (in the end they mounted it sideways with a fork mount bracket) I guess they didn't read the instructions that came with the rack.
Anyway, they at least didn't throw away the widget and I just found it in the bag of spares they gave me so I'll mount it myself, hopefully I've got enough slack in the cable.

The instructions are pretty much non-existing - I remember needing some time to figure it out.
But mounting the light sideways sounds pretty dumb. -

Beg to differ, mine came with this (the other side is a fun poster)

Oh, they must have upgraded those since I got my rack 2-3 years ago.. That looks much better than I remember!
Also, the bike looks well nice!

And now, is there a preferred rack bag? Something like the mack workshop one.
Preferably one that can handle a laptop but i guess beggars can't etc.

What size laptop? My old work 13" Dell fit perfectly in my ILE bag. Although I have no idea where to get them now that Always Riding has closed. There is also a Surly back of similar dimensions that might be easier to source.

Uuuuuh, that looks even better.
You might want to extend the front mudguard under the rack, unless you get a waterproff/-resistant bag. -
• #722
Yeah I guess it's like that because they mounted the mudguard on the back of the fork rather than the front? Suppose it's better to have foot coverage than bag coverage when it comes down to it...but best to have..all coverage and it's easiery to extend a mudguard backwards rather than forwards.. Otherwise the mudguards seem nice OK! Certainly cheaper than trying to get those 75mm simworks beasties.

Hmm, I think I'll try and get bigxtop bro to make one for me. I contacted him via the contact form on his website, I'll see how long it takes him to reply...

Does the Pelago utility rack fit to the axles? If not, recommendations for a similar rack that fits to the axles? I don't have eyelets.
Recommendations for a rack that'll work on 29" plus tyres? Ideally able to take a pannier and be able to strap bits on top.
So far I'm considering the Blackburn outpost front rack, the surly, or possibly the tubus duo with a separate small randonneur style rack above.
