  • The graffing style in my pic ('Billy the Kid...') is identical to that shown in the book. Careful comparison of the location shots then and now (look at the stucco panels) makes me as good as certain it's at the east side of Shrewsbury Road W2, opposite the school. (In fact the side wall of the last house in St Stephen's Gardens.) If you approach from Westbourne Park Road, it's just beyond the pub shown below:

  • This one will run and run.

    I've found a few more walls like that in the area, and it looks as if there may be more candidates. It seems to be a style that was used for developments several times around there. Obviously, the wall in question may since have been torn down, but let's not fear the worst. :)

  • However I took several pictures on that evening, including children in the playground round the corner in St Stephen's Gardens, on the same neg strip. So that's where my shot is for sure.
