  • Oofff... Go straight to HHSB!

  • New wheels day ( @broken_777 ) ruined by piss poor tyre logo alignment.

  • Cycle jumble bargain frameset, bit on the small side for me but ok for a sit up bike.

  • Thanks @Hacha for the frame !!!
    1978 frame
The plan is find silver shiny rims pair 28h
a frond Campag BF 28h hub
    Find a Cinelli Pista dropbar
find pista forks thoses are my Basso ones
a nice pair a tubes and a nice late 70's saddle...
can go for Campag cranset and a biger ring but this Gipiemme De rosa 48T ring is quite nice...
    Cheers

  • I thought 8/9/10/11 is all the same on MTB cassettes. Only road 11 speed needs a special free hub.

You could always rattlecan the rims.

Let’s talk about that saddle though.

  • Rattlecan?! Makes no sense when 26" is so cheap.

I think the saddle looks worse because of the angle of the photo, it's surprisingly comfy... standard one that comes with the Troll.

  • Well it’s the difference of a can of paint or new wheels/rims/rebuilding.... i would just love with the brake surfaces.

  • Well, this turned up on Gumtree so I bought it this afternoon...

  • Is it time to upgrade my faithful old Spesh for some hydro-disced, carbon-framed modernity?

  • Your red bike looks great! I bet it rides like a dream

  • Is it time to upgrade my faithful old Spesh for some hydro-disced, carbon-framed modernity?

    No!

  • I do love it and it is great to ride with the Veloflex tubulars, but I have had it 5 years or so now (in various builds) so I'm getting a bit of an itch to change, but also know I'll never get another one as nice and I can't have two roadies.

  • Only need to attach the cables and this (re-)build is ready to be ridden. Hoped to build it as close to catalog spec as possible (without having to sell a kidney...) and I -surprisingly- managed to do so.

  • If you can’t have 2bikes that’s unfortunate :(
You could/should maybe get a 27,5 fat tired drop bar bike without selling the red goodness and then if you really need to keep just one, forget it and keep both ! :)
It’s maybe not a super advice tho...

  • I have had it 5 years or so

I don't have any bikes that new.

  • FW Holdsworth is a 1960 Hurricane, matching bb and steerer tube stamps with the lugs and pump pegs, Agrati rear dropouts and was originally metallic red from some rough sanding. Yay.

  • I do think I may regret it.

    @mdcc_tester

Well it's a 2003 so wasn't new when i got it . It's been through many changes though and I'm not sure I can let it go. Probably wouldn't get much for the frame either.
