Do you have to access the update via App store / Chrome?
Can't you upgrade directly from your mac?Other than that only creating a bootable USB with 10.7 comes to mind -

Your machine may not be upgradeable, past 10.6.8

Are you keeping to 10.6.8 for a reason?

I wondered if someone could help. I have an old macbook running OS 10.6.8 and I would ike to upgrade it. These machines don't have recovery mode. I can't go to the App store on the machine because App Store needs a more recent version of Chrome than my OS can support. So I'm in a bit of a bind. Any ideas?
