Yes, the damping has gone all weird, the LSC isn't seemingly doing anything.

And they're new, maybe done about 20 rides.

Return it or get it serviced. Not sure what else you could do. Shouldn't need to pull it apart 40 hours in, even if the service interval is 50 hours. And even if you did you might find what is wrong but won't be able to fix it. You'll get a free service out of it I guess if you kick up a fuss.
