  • It’s a chain guard.

  • Sorry for the spam but maybe this is of interest:

    https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/323304/

  • Thats a great deal for someone

  • Also may be of interest

Would by but not in London

  • Could anyone suggest any decent sscx frameset in Europe? All the good deals are in US but this kind of delivery is not an option for me. Up to $300 max, cr-mo, canti. Something cheap but good looking like Warhawk from statebicycle.

  • Genesis Day one, All City Nature boy, On one pompino etc

  • canti.

I don't think people still make those.

  • I am going to get a Specialized Tricross Singlecross to serve as a winter&snow fun bike (to spare my Pickenflick from salt which is plentiful here during winter), previous owner mounted flat bars so going to convert it back to drops. Planned tyres Suomi W240 700x40c (studded). For winter conditions, should I go for Tektro CR720 cantis or V-brakes? I will need to buy a handlebar and levers so both Tektro RL340 and RL520 linear pull ones are possible.

  • mini v's all the way man.

  • Magic gear or ???

  • Hoods ?

  • Odi Hudz. Maybe.

  • More the colour🤔

  • It is sscx. If you can't handle the swag >>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Ah. Like @Hulsroy said, it's sscx, anything goes. The more garish, the better.

  • Just picked up a Charge Plug (the alloy CX singlespeed with canti's version), original wheels are a bit ropey along wit the brakes so it's getting some TLC before being pressed into use as "rubbish bike for rubbish things", commuting, pub, CX pit bike. With that in mind, the budget is stuff from the spares bin and loose change from down the back of the sofa.

    Question for you guys:

    1) Are those £25 novatec hubs on ebay legit? Half the price they are in the shops. Can't see any visible differences, I've messaged them and yes they do have most combinations of black or silver and drillings.

On top of that, is there much difference between the novatec hubs with exposed bearings (a165 / a166) and the ones with caps on the end (a185 / a186). It's inevitably going to be used in the rain and mud so it's a false economy if they're not going to last.

    2) Any suggestions on rims? Alex CX28 seem like the best VFM, £31, middleweight and tubeless to boot. Anything even more budget friendly that I've missed?

And my "nice" SSCX Genesis Vagabond

  • If you're not too worried about the weight of the rims, take a look at cnc-bike.de.
They have a lot of cheap rims, like the Ryde X-Pace. It is 8 Euros and weighs 568g on my scale.

  • I bought a rootbeer colored geared knobby x from kelly when he was still in Oakland.

  • I was intrigued by the novatec S252 freehub SS hub for the price and b/c the ones i found on the internet were nutted. Since i thought i had to have nutted i passed. In the meantime i installed a used wheel that uses a QR formula D52 hub. It worked great,,ie no slippage or movement so instead of doing the novatec hub i found a WTB single duty for $50 US and bought it. Laced it to a DT 440 rim. Should have it installed in the next couple of days....
