I don't get the 1 1/8th thing. Market has moved to larger stuff and most people that can afford these are obviously putting them on swanky bikes, which tend to not be 1 1/8th....
Presumably just for retrofitters. Not wanting to leave their historical customers behind?
I would hazard a guess that there will be new tapered options too, just that they’re teasing with this one which isn’t officially announced yet
It's probably cheaper to do a straight steerer than a tapered one. So you get cheaper frames. And once you feel like upgrading you can buy our £300 fork, and none of these Chinese imports. Win-win
