  • So. I knew I was gonna have a problem with the rear dropouts. I had just guessed which ones I’d need when ordering, stupidly, as I hadn’t drawn the frame out yet. Once I had, I realised I was going to need dropouts suitable for 74 degrees between chain and seat stays but what is ordered is 62. I asked them to change it the other day but they’d already shipped.
    I’ve plenty of time before I get to needing the dropouts so I could just order the right angle ones or I could change the plan and drop the seat stays down the seat tube but it does ruin the classic look I was going for.
    I could modify the dropouts but I think the difference in angle is quite significant so I’m not sure it’s doable.

  • I think the dropped stays would look good, especially if they’d be parallel to the downtube. But it’s a matter of taste, clearly.

    Well envious of this whole project by the way, hope to be doing something similar in a year or two.
