  • I saw people crimping the chainstay to get a little more clearance... Would be my last bet, but if done right ...

  • Nearly finished my new bike. Disc brakes to be done, bar tape, some other small details. And steerer has to be cut to length of course.

  • That’s what I feared. Bugger.

  • this is sick! what's the story of the frame, looks like it's been repaired?

  • I've got a great conditon black cane creek cartridge bearing 1" aheadset for £15 -PM if interested

  • Tasty build! What are those bars?

  • Thanks, bars are chinese carbon, stem is a deda superzero.

  • yup i had to get a new tube after this happened

  • well.. there is no information available on this frame (couldn't find it in any of the catalogues available online). i read somewhere that it's the same frame as the cyclocross headshok of the era - if that's true, then ht angle is 71.5, st angle is 74.

these should be a bit slacker by now since it had a 30mm headshok fork. lefty isn't much bigger in terms of a2c and it has 100mm of travel (the wheel doesn't reach the bottom lefty clamp when topped out). i can play with the a2c later as both of the lefty claps are adjustable.

EDIT: my protractor decided to give up, so i got no way of measuring.. will get a tape out and measure the forks themselves

  • 32 Record Pista tubular wheelset, and 2A/Pista cockpit..

  • You might be able to use a phone app?

  • it looks like I’ll have the ol’ Omnium crank arm clearance problem

Get nicer cranks, problem solved! Crazy frame dude.

  • ok, i officially feel old at 27. i would never have thought of that...

    ht is 69
    st is 72

  • Yeah, I've done exactly this; SG75's and SG75 sealed BB en route from Dolan.

Ive got a Dura Ace headset that I'm going to get fitted tomorrow.

I guess with the Omniums now redundant I've unintentionally acquired the first component for the GF's bike I've been threatening to build her. That new Steamroller in metallic lilac has got the thumbs up...

  • This is beautiful! What size is it if you don't mind me asking?

  • Same age and I blushed at calling it a "phone app" and not just an app

  • @Eamesy just a bit smaller thank your Hansom I guess, mine is 59,5 x 56,5 ctc

  • Looks really nicely proportioned, great job!

  • Spent a bit of time on this last night, I'll be using it as a stand-in road bike. I was going to sell it but I haven't ever even ridden it so I figured it at least needs to be built up

  • Bought this for riding when I can't be bothered to go a ride. Chucked some wider bars on and swapped the Avid Juicys for trusty old BB7s. Most fun/£ I've ever had from a bike.
