• Very nice. What size is that?

  • 24"
Chose Dave Yates largely on the basis of this cover photo way back then (Dave Hannah for the record).
Hoped some of the magic would rub off on me.
    It didn't.

This is Dave Hannah on a Yates, above is a DY top (that is really his face) that did Ride London last year. I have it bad, sorry.

  • Gotta love those old TA cranks (until they break)

  • not mine

  • And do they break. All going nicely, then, crack, and your pedal falls out... Lovely cranks though...

  • Nice. I presume those are just donor wheels? AFAIK DY doesn't do discs, at least not for road bikes.

  • Another spotted at Capheaton cafe

  • An old thread, but these are old bikes. Here's mine. Commissioned in 1996 and just been reborn (last night) with 2019 Ultegra. It was equipped with 1996 shimano 600 ultegra but the shifters finally gave up. In about 2000 the right hand seat stay cracked just below the seat clamp bolt and m steel/Dave Yates told me to send it back. They fixed it and resprayed it for free. Nice.

  • This needs a better pic. Love that red with the white decals.

  • Here’s my Joe Waugh frame currently a working process, it’s currently has campag athena groupset fitted but this might change.

  • Good to see you're documenting all of your Joe/Dave spots and that so many of them are still in the North East. I wish I still had my Joe Waugh. It should still be in Newcastle somewhere. Are you in Northumberland?

  • Loving all the bikes^ up here. Glad @Flipflop is snapping these ones at Clapheaton. Great name too!

I spotted one in Brockley the other day. Rider was too fast for me to have a good look at it.

  • Just realised I never got a pic of my
    Condor mtb up.

  • That green Joe Waugh is absolutely gorgeous, I love it.
    Yes I'm in Northumberland

  • Better picture. Just got in so light fading. Changed the saddle and put road pedals on. Hopefully going for a spin tomorrow.

  • Cheers! I remember when speccing the bike I'd thought of everything but the colour, so when they asked me I was like "er... red? Post box red?"

Its lasted well and is easy to touch up.👍🏻

  • I'm from just near Hexham. Great part of the world. Incidentally, one of my dads friends used to ride with Joe and Dave Yates and worked at Steeles.

  • I'm a Ponteland lad living in Throckley with family and friends in Hexham, small world

  • Cheers dude :) it’s a working progress atm looking forward to getting it completed and actually riding it come spring.

  • Ha that's good for another 25 years' service. My Yates-built 1991 Condor Pendio still going strong. Other than the frame, the only original component is the seatpost binder bolt.

  • Nice one! Post a picture!
Think mine has original binder bolt AND the headset. 😎

This is as it was for most of the last 25 years
