very nice. what's the notch at the base of the blade for? or is just aesthetics?
I think its called a Spanish notch. I only use it as its easier to avoid scratching up the rest of the blade while sharpening, although I think it was originally as a blade catch for knife fighting. I won't be knife fighting.
